GroupOrder — Proof of Resolution
For the Shopify App Review team · Cartwright Labs · November 5, 2026
Thank you for reviewing GroupOrder. This page documents the two issues raised in your review feedback (reference 146999), what caused them, the fixes we shipped, and the evidence that both are resolved. Nothing on this page is required reading beyond each issue's section.
Issue 1.2.2 — Subscription could not be verified
What you saw. The annual plan was approved on the review store, but the app responded that it could not verify the GroupOrder subscription, and campaign pages returned a billing error (402).
Root cause. The review store had never completed the app's install (OAuth) flow, so no store record, access token, or billing record existed on our side. With nothing to verify against, the billing callback failed and the subscription gate could never pass — the annual plan itself was not the problem.
Fix (deployed November 5, 2026).
- If a store with no install record reaches the billing callback, it is now sent through the install flow first, instead of failing.
- The subscription gate now checks the store's live subscription status with Shopify before refusing access, rather than relying on a possibly stale local record.
- Immediately after install completes, the app syncs the store's live subscription, so an approved plan is recognized right away.
Evidence. On a clean test install, the annual plan was approved at $0 in test mode, the billing callback completed successfully (HTTP 200), and the app opened normally with the trial running to November 18, 2026. Reference charge ID: 75844223191.
Issue 2.1.1 — Campaign access blocked after billing
What you saw. Campaign pages could not be reached even after a plan was approved.
Root cause. The same missing install record: with no completed install, every campaign request was stopped at the subscription gate, permanently.
Fix. The same changes as issue 1.2.2, plus: stores without a completed install now see a reconnect screen that takes them through install, instead of a dead end. We also closed a related gap found during testing — if a store uninstalls and later reinstalls, the old subscription state is cleared, so the store is correctly offered the plans page again.
Evidence. After the fix, campaign creation and the campaign list load normally on stores with an approved monthly and an approved annual plan, verified end to end on our test store (monthly plan charge ID 76014813338, ACTIVE, trial to November 19, 2026).
Both fixes are live in production. If anything in this document is unclear, or you would like a walkthrough, contact us at support@cartwrightlabs.com and we will respond promptly.
About GroupOrder
GroupOrder lets a Shopify merchant run a group order — for team kits, club merchandise, fundraisers — through a single shared link. Each participant pays for their own item at the store's normal checkout; the merchant sees one roster of who has paid, and ships a single bulk parcel when the campaign closes. Details and screenshots are on the GroupOrder product page.
